A comeback on Saturday and a defensive team performance on Sunday, saw the Swindon Wildcats defeat the Solway Sharks and the Berkshire Bees.
Coach Aaron Nell was the hero on Saturday as he scored four goals including the game winner.
Saturday 21st September: Wildcats Vs Sharks
The away side started on the front foot and opened the scoring with a lovely tip in from Nolan Gardiner at 06:46.
Then at 11:17, the Sharks got a powerplay opportunity and after a scramble in front the of the net, Gardiner received the puck and fired it through Renny Marr to get his and Solway’s second of the game.
The Wildcats had a few opportunities to get a goal back on the powerplay but Jordan Marr stood strong and made some very impressive saves.
End of the first period: Wildcats 0-2 Sharks
The Cats really took control of the game in the second period with a lot of puck possession and the pressure was eventually rewarded with coach Nell firing the puck low into the net at 32:30.
And after some more pressure from the Cats, Jake Bricknell received the puck and had plenty of time to pick his spot into the top corner to tie it up at two. Goal timed at 36:24.
With the Sharks getting into some penalty trouble, the Cats took full advantage on the 5 on 3 with Nell first timing the puck into the top corner to give the Cats the lead. Goal scored at 39:39.
End of the second period: Wildcats 3-2 Sharks
It was then another fast start for the Cats scoring on the powerplay early in the final period. Chris Jones first timing the puck past Jordan Marr at 40:26.
The Sharks got a powerplay opportunity late into the game, but after some fantastic forechecking from Tomasz Malasinski, he got the puck and passed it to Nell who fired low to score his Hat-trick goal. Timed at 53:38
The Sharks then rolled the dice, pulling Jordan Marr for the extra skater, However Malasinski found Nell again who bobbled the puck into the empty net for his fourth and the Wildcats sixth.

Sunday 22nd September: Bees Vs Wildcats
It would be the Cats who scored the early goal. Ed Bradley the former Bee finding space and first timing the puck past Max Wright. Goal scored at 02:57.
The Bees battled back into the game with Balaz jumping in on a rebound and backhanding the puck over Marr to tie it up at one. Goal scored at 11:54.
However, less than three minutes later the Cats would get their lead back, a scramble round the net and Pakozdi was their to force the puck over the line.
End of the first period: Bees 1-2 Wildcats
Then came the turning point of the game, Pakozdi took a high stick to the face, the Bees went on to score but it was called back for the high stick meaning the Cats got a powerplay opportunity.
After some patient play, Bricknell backhanded a pass to Billing who first timed the puck low past Wright to give the Cats a two goal lead heading into the final period.
End of the second period: Bees 1-3 Wildcats
The final period was a fantastic defensive effort from the Wildcats, they killed a 5 on 3 and a five minute penalty with Renny Marr making some unbelievable saves.
