Saturday Match Report: Wildcats Vs Phantoms

The Phantoms opened the scoring with a 3 on 2 break which was finished well by Luke Ferrara at the back door. Both Goalies then made great 1 on 1 saves to stop certain goals. Into the second period and after a lot of sustained pressure, the Wildcats tied it up with a lovely snipe from Sayers into the top corner. However just before the end of the second, the Phantoms scored a power play goal through Ferrara again who tapped it past Marr in front of the net.

Just over a minute into the third period, the Phantoms then got a two-goal lead with the puck bouncing the Nathan Salem in the slot who buried it past Marr. Just a few minutes later there was a big scramble in front of the net which was eventually bundled in by Brad Bowering. Tyler Plews dropped the gloves with Joe Gretton to gain a bit of momentum for the Cats and Sayers scored his second minutes after latching onto a rebound.  But the Phantoms fought back with a goal which the crowd thought was a hand pass leading to the goal but the refs gave it giving the Phantoms their three goal lead back.

End of the game: Wildcats 2-5 Phantoms
