Hot off the back of confirming Owen Griffiths earlier this week, the Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats can confirm that Sam Bullas will be back in your lineup for the new season when it gets underway in September.

Bully has pencilled another contract to ensure he stays in Swindon for a 16th season, extending his lead as the clubs all time appearance holder.

A lot has changed since the summer of 2009 when Sam first arrived in Swindon, but the organisation has grown massively since his arrival from the Nottingham Panthers.

Having played in over 800 games in Swindon, Bully really is a core part of the club and has lifted multiple trophies in his time in Swindon. A leader on and off the ice and still one of the most popular players in the lineup Bully himself revealed his excitement to be back again.

I can’t believe I’m going into my 16th year in Swindon, it feels like yesterday I first came down and put on a Wildcats jersey. The club has grown massively in my time here and it really feels like we are building towards something this year.

With the team Aaron’s putting on the ice it is going to be a fun year for the fans and one I cannot wait to be a part of! Have a great summer Cats fans, I will see you soon!

Meanwhile Head Coach Aaron Nell added:

I am not sure it would be a Swindon Wildcats team without Bully. I am thrilled to have him back again for another year and I know he is excited for another campaign.

He competes every night, he plays with his heart on his sleeve and he leaves everything out on the ice. It is a remarkable achievement to be our all-time leader in games played and I am excited to see him add to that this year.

Everyone in Swindon loves him and his passion for ice hockey in this town is second to none. So many academy players are playing because of him and we’re lucky to have a man like Bully in our organisation.
