MATCH REPORT: Swindon Wildcats 7 – 1 Basingstoke Bison

Friday 24th October 2025 – The Link Centre

The Swindon Wildcats turned on the style on Friday night, powering to a dominant 7–1 win over the Basingstoke Bison in front of a lively home crowd at The Link Centre.

Swindon got off to the perfect start when Glenn Billing opened the scoring just over three minutes in, finishing off a slick move from O’Connor and Bebris. The pressure kept coming, and O’Connor doubled the advantage midway through the first period with a well-placed shot assisted by Jones and Lipsey.

After a strong spell of Bison resistance in the second, the Wildcats broke through again late in the period. Tyler Watkins made it 3–0, converting a feed from vande Meerakker and Billing, before vande Meerakker himself added a fourth just two minutes later to send Swindon into the break firmly in control.

The Bison found a response early in the third period as Thomas Relf struck on the powerplay, assisted by Mogg and Harding, giving the visitors a brief spark of momentum. But Swindon quickly hit back through Chris Jones, who restored the four-goal cushion less than a minute later.

Late goals from Joshua Shaw and Aaron Nell added further gloss to a commanding performance from the home side, who continued their impressive run of form.
