Two players to watch this weekend
The Swindon Wildcats have just the one game this weekend at home against the Sheffield Steeldogs.
The Steeldogs have had a busy summer with many new players signing for the team including three new imports. They have also now got the two-way partnership with the Steelers. We have picked one player from each team to watch out for on Saturday.
Swindon Wildcats - Glenn Billing
Glenn has been a huge part of Aaron’s team the last couple of seasons and is one of the best British centres in the NIHL. It’s not all about the stats with Glenn as his two-way defensive and offensive game is fantastic. He can play on any line and make the forwards around him play even better. He is a brilliant penalty killer and is always making the tactical plays which some fans may not even notice. Glenn has also picked up five points so far this season and has been a vital player to rely on in the big moments of games.
It will be another tough challenge for the Wildcats against some very skilled Steeldogs forwards. But watch out for Glenn in all aspects of the game and you will notice a lot of the little things he does to help the Wildcats team as well as chip in with some important points.
Sheffield Steeldogs: Samuel Tremblay
The Steeldogs made many exciting additions to their team in the off-season. But there has been one stand out performer who is their current top point scorer, Sam Tremblay. The Canadian forward has scored seven goals in four games so far this season including a hat-trick last weekend. He has also shown his skill by scoring a michigan goal in the Steeldogs first home game of the season.
Sam played in the Elite League last season for the Manchester Storm scoring 26 points in 50 games. With the Steeldogs having that partnership with the Steelers Sam also played many games with the Steelers in pre-season. He is two-way centre who has a lot of speed and skill within his game and has already shown he can put up some very good numbers at this level. He is definitely someone the Wildcats need to try keep quiet if they want to get the win on Saturday night.
