The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are incredibly excited to announce the return of NIHL All-Star defenceman Ryan Wells for the 25/26 season.
The 25-year-old Canadian made a tremendous impression in his first year in Swindon with a a defensive style which caught the eye of every fan in the National League.
Having graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University, Ryan moved to Swindon last summer and posted 39 points in 53 games, helping secure the team’s place at the Coventry Finals Weekend.
This year, the goal is once again silverware and with his signing completing the D core, Head Coach Aaron Nell was undoubtedly thrilled to get pen to paper with Ryan again.
"Not since Tomasz Malasinski has arrived in Swindon has an import made such an impact on the club. Ryan was phenomenal last season, and we wanted to bring him back for year two.
He is such responsible player, with an extraordinary talent to read the game at the back and has an offensive upside too. As good as a player he is, he’s an even better person and we know he’ll slot back into our locker room and be a leader on and off the ice.
I am so excited to have him back in Swindon again and I know how much the fans will love to see him back again. Our D core is probably the strongest we’ve ever had in Swindon and with Ryan and Ben I truly believe we have two of the best individual defenceman in the league."
