Launch Weekend Success
The Swindon Wildcats launched their 2025/26 campaign in style last weekend with a packed schedule of events both on and off the ice!
The weekend began on Saturday with a unique opportunity for the players to hear from one of the most respected figures in British sport, Sir Clive Woodward. The 2003 World Cup-winning England Rugby Head Coach shared his insights on leadership, teamwork and elite performance, leaving a lasting impression on the squad as they prepare for the season ahead. The team then made their way to Barbury Castle for a group run and a series of military style team building activities designed to strengthen bonds within the dressing room.
On Sunday attention turned to the club’s official press conference, which welcomed media, sponsors and Own & Loan supporters to hear from Head Coach Aaron Nell, Supporters Club Chairman Paul Norbury and newly appointed Director Danny Kimber. The open Q&A session gave fans and partners a closer look at the direction of the club both on and off the ice, before those who had secured an Own & Loan jersey had the chance to get their photos with the players in person.
The weekend concluded in fitting fashion on the ice at the Link Centre. The squad were formally introduced to supporters before taking part in media photography and a live training session, giving fans their first glimpse of the new-look Wildcats in action.
The success of the launch weekend has set the tone for an exciting season ahead, and with preparations now complete, the focus turns to this weekend’s pre-season fixtures. The Wildcats will host back-to-back games at the Link Centre against long-time rivals Basingstoke Bison, marking the first chance for fans to see the team in action.
