Saturday 4th October 2025
Swindon Wildcats staged a thrilling comeback on home ice to edge out the Hull Seahawks 4–3 in a pulsating NIHL clash.
The visitors got off to a flying start, with Bobby Chamberlain striking twice in the first period. His opening goal came at 10:32, assisted by Svec and Hehir, before doubling his tally at 16:25 with help from Sobchak, giving Hull a 0–2 advantage.
However, the Wildcats clawed one back in dramatic fashion. With just one second left in the first period, Tyler Watkins converted on the power play, assisted by O’Connor and Logan vande Meerakker, cutting the deficit to 1–2.
The momentum firmly swung Swindon’s way in the second period. Two quickfire power play goals within the opening two minutes saw the home side surge into the lead. First, vande Meerakker levelled the score at 2–2 at 21:20, with assists from O’Connor and Malasinski, before Ryan Wells made it 3–2 just 32 seconds later, assisted by Bebris.
Hull responded strongly through Johnny Corneil, who tied it up at 3–3 at 27:55 after good work from Stallard and Hewitt.
But it was Aaron Nell who sealed the deal for the Wildcats, netting the eventual game-winner at 37:26, with Malasinski picking up his second assist of the night.
