The Sharks then drove the net and were rewarded with the puck bouncing to Liam Stenton who fired his 13th goal of the season past Marr at 8:55. The Cats didn’t panic and worked their way back into the game with Antonov managing to scrap the puck past Hepburn to reduce the deficit to one at 17:03.
The Cats got a powerplay opportunity in the second period and Glenn Billing found the loose puck and flicked it in from a tight angle to tie it up at two. After a much more controlled 10 minutes in the third period, it was the Wildcats who got the break through with Bricknell racing down the wing and firing it through Hepburn at 51:51. The it would be the other Canadian Ryan Wells who went coast-to-coast and first a hard shot low through Hepburn to give the Wildcats a two-goal lead.
