It was a winning start to 2025 for the Swindon Wildcats as they beat the Bristol Pitbulls 8-1 in front of a packed out crowd.


A man-of-the-match performance from Tyler Perre in goal and a Hat-trick from Jake Bricknell sealed a fantastic victory keeping the south-west red.


Match report:


Just two and a half minutes into the game the Wildcats took the lead with a blast from Ryan Wells into the top right corner. The Cats lead was then doubled with a lovely tip in by Jake Bricknell who scored his 25th goal of the season, timed at 10.52.


Bricknell then extended the Wildcats lead to three as he toe dragged the puck past the defenseman and fired it high past Bertouche at 31.24. The Canadian then capped off his hat-trick as he blasted a first time shot through Bertouche on the powerplay, timed at 33.27. Jacob Minter then scored his first goal for the Swindon Wildcats as he jumped in on the play and fired it through the legs of Bertouche at 37.56.


The Cats then came flying out for the third period with a lovely passing move between Wells and Pakozdi which was eventually finished off by Aaron Nell at 40.16. Just over two minutes later it was seven with Reed Sayers receiving a pass from Malasinski and firing it into the top corner. Glenn Billing then jumped in on the action and tipped the puck past Bertouche at 52.59. The Pitbulls did score a late consolation goal through Nick Pryce who fired it high past Perre.
