Saturday match report: Wildcats Vs Steeldogs
It would be the away side who got the opening goal with a lovely tip in from Tate Shudra at 3:55. However the Wildcats responded with Bricknell skating in on the left and firing it low past Dan Crowe timed at 11:37. Then a buzzer beater as Bricknell picked up the loose puck behind the goal and wrapped it around in the net with 0.1 seconds left of the period.
Walker Sommer then broke away one on one for the Steeldogs but Renny Marr made a huge save! From that save the puck then bounced to Tyler Plews who played a perfect pass to Antonov who calmly tucked the puck away through the legs of Crowe at 26:26. The Steeldogs responded well though with a brilliant team goal, tic tac, toe passing ended with a snipe from Elmeri Halfors to make it a one goal game again.
As the game got a bit tense and nervous, up stepped Bricknell who parked himself in front of the net and tipped it past Crowe and in the back of the net to get his hat-trick and the Cats two goal lead back. But the Steeldogs came back again, Sommer this time managing to squeeze the puck past Marr timed at 53:28. The Dogs pulled the goalie for the extra skater but the Wildcats defended strong and secured the victory and the two points.
