The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are pleased to confirm the signing Logan vande Meerakker from the Evansville Thunderbolts in the SPHL.

The 25-year-old Canadian joins the Wildcats after posting 37 points in 54 games with Evansville whilst also contributing 7 points in 7 games during their playoff run.

In the playoffs the Thunderbolts were playoff champions securing the first ever President’s Cup for the franchise, defeating the Knoxville Ice Bears in the final series. During the playoff run, Logan led the team in individual scoring, with the team finishing with 6 wins out of 7 games in the post season.

Joining Tomasz Malasinski as the Wildcats second import forward, Head Coach Aaron Nell had the following to say regarding Logan’s arrival in Swindon:

I’m really happy to have secured Logan’s signature for the new season. He is a player who can compete all over the ice and put up strong numbers last year in Evansville. Leading the team in scoring in the playoffs as well just goes to show he thrives playing in the big games and will have the winning mentality we want to add to the team this season.

We are excited to get Logan to Swindon and I am looking forward to working with him when he gets to the UK and I’m sure the Wildcats fans will give him a big welcome!

Meanwhile, Logan himself added;

I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Wildcats for the upcoming season. This is a proud organization with a strong tradition, great leadership, and a loyal fan base.

 From the moment conversations started, I knew this was a team I wanted to be part of. I’m coming in hungry and ready to do whatever it takes to help bring a championship to Swindon.

 I can’t wait to get started and give everything I’ve got for this team.

Logan's jersey will be available for own and loan soon!
