The Bracknell Bees and Swindon Wildcats are pleased to announce a new annual challenge series which will be charity focused.  The M4 derby teams will play a home and away series every season with teams picking the supported charities on alternate years.

This season’s chosen charity, chosen by the Bees, is Young Epilepsy who will sponsor both the Bracknell and Swindon home games. Young Epilepsy is a national charity, formed in 1897 supporting children and young adults up to the age of 25 with epilepsy and associated conditions.  The charity also provides support to families of those children and young adults.

Next season’s charity will be chosen by the Swindon Wildcats.

This season’s games will be on the 1st and 2nd January 2019 with Swindon hosting the first game at the Better Link Centre and Bracknell the second at The Hive. The game at the Better Link Centre will be a 4pm face-off on New Years Day.

Swindon Wildcats Head Coach Aaron Nell said; “We’re pleased we can help support the Bees in this venture and also make it a yearly event. It will be two really fun games of hockey and hopefully, we can come together and raise a lot of money for Young Epilepsy, one I’m sure all our fans will agree is a very good cause.”

Bracknell Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard spoke of the new challenge series; “We do have a good rivalry with Swindon and this being the M4 derby.  I think it’s great that our two clubs can come together and raise money for a great cause.  I look forward to raising as much money as possible for Young Epilepsy this coming New Year.

Carol Hunt of Young Epilepsy said; “Young Epilepsy would like to thank Bracknell Bees and Swindon Wildcats for all their efforts, as with their support, we can continue to tackle epilepsy on behalf of the 112,000 children and young people living with the condition across the UK.

Further details on these games will be released in the coming weeks, but we urge all Wildcats fans to keep both dates free to help raise some money for a superb cause.
