The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to confirm that Jack Goodchild has put pen to paper to remain with the Cats for another season.

Jack, who was born in Winchester, made his way through the Slough & Bracknell junior programmes before making the move to the then Swindon-based Okanagan Hockey Academy in the summer of 2017.

Overall, he spent three years with OHA where he iced in 48 games, scored 44 goals and 45 assists for 89 points. On top of this, he also captained the side in 18-19. Much like Reed Sayers, Jack got his breakout opportunity with the senior Wildcats during the 2021 Spring Cup.

Last season was his first full year of senior hockey and the energy he brought on every shift was there for all to see, unfortunately his season was ended early due to injury but he did represent Great Britain in the U20 World Championships.

Head Coach Aaron Nell said:

I’m delighted to have Jack back for another year with us. Just like Reed, it was his first year of senior hockey and I think he’ll have grown as a player heading into his second season. He had some really big games last year for us.

He’s an energy forward who loves playing the game and has a brilliant skating ability for someone his age. I’m thrilled he’s decided to stay in Swindon and I’m excited to get working with him again in a couple of months’ time!
