Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy has again had a number of players be involved in the England National Team Programme (ENTP). In recent weeks the squad announcements have been made for the U13/14/15 boy’s teams and U13/16 girls teams.

12 SWIHA players have been included in the international rosters and academy coach Gareth Endicott has also been added to the England Coaching program supporting the development of the players involved.

SWIHA General Manager Lee Mason says that “We (SWIHA) are extremely proud of the players that have been selected to represent England. It is a testament to their hard work and talent for them to have been chosen and a huge endorsement of the coaches and opportunities that are offered in Swindon”

The players included in the England teams are:

England U13 boys – Josh Burnett, Ben Clarke Leach

England U14 Boys – Alfie Jeffries, Dylan Lipsey, Bobby Ragan, Alfie Druett

England U13 Girls – Lilly Endicott

England U16 Girls – Mali Easton, Ellin Rees, Jessica Jones (Top Kittens and Cardiff) with Kayla Poole and Abi Minter making reserves

Earlier this year another Top Kitten Ellie Wallace represented Great Britain U18’s Women.

Community Development Officer Dave Ridley also added that “Everyone associated with ice hockey in Swindon would like to congratulate all of the players and coaches who have been selected to represent the club. There is an incredible group of volunteers who give their time to see players develop and play at the highest level possible, without their support many players wouldn’t get opportunities to represent their country.”
