Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce that once again, many members of our superb fanbase will be sponsoring players for the forthcoming season. Over the last few years, the fans have really become part of the hockey family and it’s great to see some familiar faces return alongside some fresh new fans who have backed their favourite players.

Commercial Manager Sally Price said: The fans are the most important part of the club and we cannot thank the below names enough for backing the boys for 19/20. We’re spoilt to have such a good fanbase and they really get behind the team on the ice. We hope everyone is counting down to the season much like we are!

In number order, we are thrilled to announce the fan sponsors so far are:

The McCool Family are one of our new sponsors this year and will be supporting Chris Jones over the course of the season. They said: As a family, we are new to ice hockey, we got introduced to the support through the Community Street Hockey session ran by Dave and Robbie at our son’s school. We began attending in October 2018 and have been hooked since. This year we’ve got season tickets and are really looking forward to supporting Chris and the team over the course of the season.

Melanie & Nigel Beckett will once again back Floyd Taylor for the new season who added: Floyd has developed into one of the key members of the team and we are delighted to be supporting him for another season. He has always been one of our favourite players and he keeps finding ways to improve his performances and we can’t wait to see him on the ice again in September.

Neil & Vicky Davidson are once again supporting the team, but with the retirement of Max Birbraer they have made the choice to back Head Coach Aaron Nell for the 19/20 season. They said: Having sponsored Wildcat players for several years we were keen to continue supporting the team again for the 2019/2020 season so when we were informed that Aaron was available for sponsorship it didn’t take long for us to decide to sign up. We’re looking forward to seeing Aaron and the team build on the success of the last couple of years in the new league format and hopefully bring home some more silverware.

Another new sponsor for this season is Charlotte Rabey who will be backing Luc Johnson. Charlotte has been a season ticket holder for a few years now but will be supporting Luc especially through 19/20. Charlotte told us: I’m so excited to be sponsoring Luc this season, it gives me a chance to support a player who gives 100% for the club that I love so much.

Stevie Whitfield will be lucky enough once again to not only have a full sponsor, but also an associate one as well. The Glenister Family will be his main sponsors for another season, and they added: We are thrilled to be able to continue our sponsorship of Stevie. It is a privilege to be associated with a player that gives everything for the Wildcats jersey. Like all Wildcats fans, we can’t wait to see Stevie and the rest of the team back on the ice competing in the new league set up.

Meanwhile, Annette Duffy will again be his associate sponsor for 19/20, saying: After the last season’s amazing achievement by the team, I am thrilled to have another opportunity to sponsor Stevie, who in my opinion just had his best season yet with the Swindon Wildcats.

Finally, our new number 36 Tyler Vankleef will be sponsored for his first season with the club by Emily Baskerville. Emily came to her first Wildcats game last season and was instantly hooked; sat near the front of Block B she spent her Saturday evenings cheering on the boys with her Grandad David Strover. David, known for his graphic work with the club, has organized this sponsorship for Emily as a surprise and we are thrilled to be revealing to the fans and Emily herself who she’s backing for 2019/20.
