Dear Bowlers,

Thank you once again for a great night of bowling with the Wildcats.  A huge thank you, as always, goes to the Wildcats for giving their time.  Thirteen Wildcats were with us on Tuesday and for four of them, it was their first time bowling with the Supporters Club.  Talking to the players, it is clear that these evenings really are something they look forward to within the season.  In conversation with the new players, it was clear that they had never enjoyed this type of interaction with their team's supporters before and they felt that it was something that made Swindon Wildcats really special.  It was also great to see some new faces within the supporters joining us for the evening, we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

We had twelve lanes this time and, as usual, there was plenty of good humoured (we think) competition between the players.  I always get a chuckle as the players wander down the lanes supposedly having a chat with the other players and supporters, but you can see that they always have one eye on the scores above the lanes.  They are also desperate to avoid the Dylan Lipsey award for the lowest scoring Wildcat.

A few points to note.  Caden only just managed to beat his wife who was bowling with us for the first time.  I think it might have been a quiet drive home if this hadn't been the case. Dawesy, on the other hand, was beaten by his daughter.  He was still smiling at the end so I guess all was forgiven.  A great effort Lauren.  Plewsey was also very clearly desperate to retain his top ranking from the February session and we will see how that went shortly.

So, to the scores.  Some great scores across the teams, this might be one of the first years where every team managed to exceed 900 points across the six bowlers.  The winning team was lane five, with 1,160 points.  The team was;

• Ed Dempster

• Rowan Dempster

• Ellis Dempster

• Amanda Whitfield

• Alfie

• Jamie Smith

Second place, with 1,114 points went to lane one who were,

• Adam Whitehouse

• Danielle MacFarlane

• Jamie Thomas

• Lily

• Oscar

• Dylan Lipsey

A great performance by the team for second place especially given that they were allocated last February's winner of the Dyan Lipsey award. Third place went to Lane 12 with 1,110 points (Bebe, Chris, Harry, Luc, Noah and Tyler).  The wooden spoon this time went to …, you know who you are!

And so to the highest scoring Wildcat.  This was a really close fought battle between two of the players.  But bragging rights go to Renny Marr with a fantastic score of 244, just one point ahead of Ryan Wells on 243.  A very credible third Place went to Liam Fraser on 238.

And that brings us to the Dylan Lipsey award for the lowest scoring Wildcat.  Fortunately, the next time we return to the bowling lanes, the players will be looking to the Glenn Billing award for the poorest performing Wildcat.  Well done to Dylan, whatever practice you have had since February has paid dividends.  But don't get too complacent, there were only seven points in it.

Next Bowling with the Wildcats evening is in January.  See you there.
