The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm the signing of Josh Shaw from the Bristol Pitbulls.

Josh returns to Swindon where he played a part in the 21/22 team who captured the Autumn Trophy by beating the Leeds Knights in the final. The move will also see Josh link back up with Reece Kelly who has also made the move down the M4 to Swindon.

Josh is still only 17 years old and put up 9 points in 51 games for the Pitbulls last year. Through his junior career Josh started with the Swindon Leopards under 15s before moving across to the Okanagan Hockey Academy for two years.

On an international level Josh was also a major part of the GB U18 team who won Bronze at this year’s D2A World Championships.

Head Coach Aaron Nell spoke about his latest acquisition by saying:

Josh was another player I targeted early in the off season. Hes one of the best U18 players in the country and being a Swindon junior, I wanted to bring him back to the Wildcats. He also had a really good World Championships with GB.

Hopefully he can continue to grow this year and become a big player for us for the years ahead. Im sure his speed will help generate offensive chances for him and his linemates and Im excited to get working with Josh again!
