After a few months with no hockey, The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm the fixtures for the 22/23 Planet Ice NIHL National season.

Having already confirmed our pre-season schedule with Bristol & Telford, we’re thrilled to confirm the opening night of our competitive season will be on Saturday 17th September against the newly reformed Hull Seahawks, before on the Sunday we travel to Sheffield to take on the Steeldogs.

Kicking things off against Hull will see the return of two very familiar faces with Declan Balmer and Emil Svec both returning to the Better Link Centre for the first time.

The 2022 festive period will see the Wildcats compete in two back-to-back derbies, firstly on boxing day we’ll visit the Basingstoke Bison before hosting Ashley Tait’s team on the 27th December at the Link Centre.

Over the New Year we’ll continue the newest rivalry in the National League as we’ll firstly host Jamie Elson and the Bristol Pitbulls on New Years Eve, before making the short trip down the M4 on New Years Day in the return fixture.

We close out the regular season by hosting the Raiders before the short trip down the motorway to Slough to take on the Bees. The following weekend will then be the playoffs, before the Coventry Finals weekend on the 15th/16th April.

Head Coach Aaron Nell said:

Every summer the fixture announcement is the news we look forward to the most. The league this year is going to be another really tough one and with Bristol and Hull stepping into the league it’s going to be exciting to visit some new and some familiar locations.

We’re happy with the fixture list, and know we’ll have some packed out Saturday night’s in Swindon. We’ve got loads planned for the duration of the season and will be revealing some themed nights very soon.

It’s time to mark up the calendars, hockey is on its way back!
