Hey all,

Last weekend was another tough one for the boys.

Saturday against Leeds I thought overall we were the better team, but you can’t hide away from a 10-5 defeat. You aren’t going to win games of hockey if you let in 10 goals and that’s never good enough especially at home.

That said, we can take momentum from that game in the fact we dominated in spells and Sam Gospel pulled off over 40 saves, we just must make sure that’s the standard we put in moving forward.

Similarly on Sunday another poor start cost us. Going down 4-0 was not what we wanted and made getting anything out of the weekend a real difficult task. The guys battled hard to reduce the deficit but, the first half of the game cost us again.

Looking ahead to this weekend, we need to worry on ourselves. If we can put on a good 60-minute game, we can compete with anyone in our league. Sheffield is a solid team and whilst we beat them earlier this year, this is the first time they’ve been to Swindon.

Going to Slough on Sunday is a shorter trip for us, but as we know from the previous week, they’re capable of getting some big results. Four points and two good games of hockey are what we’re aiming for and we’ll be putting the work in this week to ensure this.

Thanks for all the support
