Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce that long-term sponsors Cardwave will be taking up sponsorship of Sam Godfrey for the 18/19 NIHL season.

Sam, who joined the club back in November 2017, will be entering his second season with the team after moving from Guildford back to his home-town club.

Cardwave Services themselves have been long-standing supporters of the Wildcats having seen them sponsor names like Adam Harding, Adam Finlinson, Michael Crisp & Kenton Smith in the past.

Speaking about returning as player sponsors Cardwave Chief Executive Paul Norbury said:

“Choosing to sponsor Sam Godfrey was an easy decision, he’s a great player and brings an edge to the team, but the truth why we chose to sponsor Sam was heavily influenced by my daughter. I cannot recall how it started, but she’s obviously picked up some business skills from me. Her persistence, creativity, and ability to negotiate a deal over several months has been very impressive for a 13-year old. It has been very amusing at times, but Lucy definitely deserves the credit for this. On a serious note, it is important that my company is recognised in the local area as an expert in data and storage technologies. I’m always looking for new opportunities and promoting Cardwave through the Wildcats is a good way to attract local interest.”

Speaking after signing up the Godfrey sponsorship, Swindon Wildcats Commercial Manager Sally Price added:

“As always, it’s an honour to welcome back Cardwave as sponsors of Sam Godfrey. The support we have received from the company since first meeting Paul five years back is just incredible. They offer support in so many areas of the club, I can’t even begin to list them all. Thank you for what you do Cardwave, we are absolutely thrilled to have you back as player sponsors.”
