As the British Ice Hockey season comes to a close, the time is almost upon us to celebrate one of the most committed players to ever wear the Swindon Wildcats jersey. Sam Bullas first joined the Wildcats back in 2009, and ten years later, the battling number 13 still proudly ices in Wiltshire.

Sam, who recently iced in his 500th game for the organisation, has become one of the biggest fan favourites the Wildcats have ever had. The work he does on the ice is cheered and remembered by his adoring fanbase, but also his work off the ice with the Swindon Wildcats in the Community will also be something to remember.

There has been lots of work over the last few weeks and months getting everything together, but we are thrilled to confirm that his testimonial will be Saturday 27th April, face-off 6:15PM at the Better Link Centre. We hope you will all be able to join Bully in celebrating his ten years in Swindon.

Speaking ahead of the event Sam added:

“I couldn’t be more proud to have been awarded a Testimonial by Steve and the Nell family. I cannot believe it has been ten years since I first walked through the doors of the Link Centre. It really has flown by.

I am excited to bring back some legends from my time in Swindon. There are loads of activities planned for during the testimonial game such as a skills competition, own and loan jerseys, a shirt off the back competition to win my testimonial jersey. On top of all this, there will be some exclusive testimonial merchandise which we’ll announce soon.

We will also be having a very special 50/50 competition where 50% goes to the winner and 50% goes to a charity very close to me and my family so hopefully we can all dig deep and raise lots of money for Cancer Research.

We have loads of players signed up already and I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to say that Shane Moore, Stevie Lyle and Phil Hill will be first three to try and take on the 18-19 Wildcats.

I really hope you can all make it on the 27th, it really will be a celebration of the last ten years of Swindon Wildcats hockey, and it is going to be a lot of fun on the evening as well.”

Tickets will be available for the testimonial during the week at Wildcat Sports or on a Wildcats game day they’ll be available from the Supporters Club desk. Wildcats season ticket holders will have their seats reserved until Sunday 10th March, after this any unsold season ticket seats will be up for general sale.
