Hey everyone,

Last weekend was a mixed one for us, but it was good to get back to winning ways against Leeds on Saturday. Obviously, it was huge for us to have the guys we were missing back in the line up but it was just as important for us to have some practice sessions back during the week!

The Christmas period meant we couldn’t get on the ice in-between the games as would have liked to and that’s a crucial part of the way we work. We also got back into our video sessions as well and they are crucial for Lee and I to talk and show the team things we noticed in the games prior.

Losing in Sunday was disappointing but I didn’t feel it was a 5-0 difference between the teams. Peterborough is arguably the toughest place to play in the national league and they did a superb job against us. We created a good amount of chances but we just didn’t take them at the crucial times like the Phantoms did.

Looking ahead to this weekend we have probably our most important weekend of the season so far. Because of the brilliant start we had there is a little gap between the top 3 and the rest of the league but that could all change this weekend.

Sheffield are getting back to winning ways after suffering, much like us, over Christmas with Covid and injury. They have some very dangerous players like Jason Hewitt and we have to be at our best to make sure we have a good weekend.

The atmosphere in the rink last weekend was brilliant and Leigh did a superb job on the mic to get the crowd going. We’re going to need that again this week so make some noise because we really do notice it on the ice!

Enjoy the hockey,

Aaron
