Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

The festive calendar is always a busy time of year for us, but we had two really good home games in front of some very big crowds.

The Bison game was one for the neutral, it had everything and I’m sure the fans in the building went away happy that night. We’d had some bad games against the Bison, so it was big for us to get a nice win against them.

The Bristol double header was tough. We didn’t start well on New Years Eve & we had to dig very deep to get a result. We had over 1400 in the building that afternoon and to come back and secure the win like that was huge. We took it a goal at a time and didn’t panic, Tomasz and Colby have been big for us recently and with Russ too, they all contributed a big way in that game.

New Years Day was a tough one to take as I think both teams deserved something from the game, but we know we can’t make mistakes like that in the dying moments of the game so that’s something we need to keep working on.

On a selfish level, I was proud to over take Daryl in All-Time Scoring. It’s not something I wanted much attention about, but it was nice for Daryl to hand me the puck after the game. I’m sure when I stop playing, I’ll look back on these milestones with more affection, but for now my focus is on the team and the next game.

We’ve just got the one game this week so all our focus will be on beating the Raiders. It’s a four-point match with them being immediately behind us in the table. Hopefully our big crowds continue, and we can get a win in our first home game of 2023!

Enjoy the hockey
