Last time out was a bit of a mixed bag for us, the win on Friday night against Basingstoke was a good one for us. They’re a better team than their league position shows, and they made us work hard for it. The first 10 minutes of the game we were dominant, and we should have been more than a goal up at that point.
I think we need to make sure we’re taking advantage when we do dominate for spells in games. We have the chances to put games to bed, and as we go down the stretch, we need to make sure we’re doing that.
Saturday in MK was a tough to take, I thought we played well and perhaps should have got a point from the game. Renny was superb in net but again, we need to convert our chances when they come our way. On Saturday in particular the game was decided on the powerplay, and we need to be more clinical there.
It was good to have pretty much a full line-up but one key part to have back was Balint. He brings something different to the team and we noticeably missed his energy in our line-up.
Looking ahead to this weekend, Peterborough are one of the most in-form teams at the moment and we’ll have to be ready for them on Saturday. They’ve recently added Petr Stepanek and we all know first hand how much of a big player he is for them. Sunday again, the Raiders will be a tough test as that rink isn’t easy to play in.
