Hey everyone,

I hope you’re having a good week.

I’d like to start my column this week by congratulating Sam Bullas for becoming the player with the most appearances for the Swindon Wildcats. I remember when Bully first came to the club, and he’s matured into the leader of our team. It was nice to Wayne Fiddes there to hand over the record before the game. They both have etched their names into Wildcats history, and I think it was nice for both to celebrate that.

The game on Saturday was good for us, we had another good start and could have been more than a goal up at the end of the first period. It was disappointing to concede the goals late in the third like we did however we have to be happy with the 2 points.

Sunday we weren’t a good enough hockey team. We had the two-goal lead and should have kicked on from there but credit to the Raiders for making it difficult for us and coming back into the game. Ultimately as we head towards the playoffs, we need to make sure we’re back to our best and playing for 120 minutes a weekend.

We’ve got the National Cup Semi-Final now and we must be at our best to make it through to the Final. Sheffield is coming into some form and it’s going to be a tough two games. I’m hopeful there will be lots of fans in Sheffield on Friday which will cheer us on to bringing a lead back to Swindon on Saturday.

Enjoy the hockey!

Aaron
