Last week was a superb effort from the boys and we were delighted to come out of it with a four-point weekend!
On Saturday we took on a different Hull team, with Themar in and the most of their side back from injury we knew it was going to be a tough test and that’s what it was. We controlled the game as we needed too but it was a little bit of a shame, we took our foot off the gas for the last five minutes, especially for Skinnsy who deserved the shut-out.
Sunday was a brilliant result for the team. We knew it was going to be a big ask to go into that rink and get a result, to do that is great and to be the first team to do it in regulation is even better.
Everyone bought in and our compete level was exactly what we needed. We scored goals at good moments in the game and that was crucial because you don’t get too many chances at Sam Gospel.
We’ve obviously got a triple header this week which will be a new test for the team. Friday night is going to be electric with a massive crowd and our first competitive derby in Swindon. They played very well the last time we played them, and we want to get the result on Friday.
Then going into MK and Peterborough will be completely different tests for the team, they’re both flying near the top of the table but we’ve had close results in both rinks already this year.
I’d like to thank you all for the donations at the Teddy Bear Toss it was another very successful one for us and we’ve nearly donated 2,500 teddies since we first did one.
