Swindon Wildcats NIHL2 side are thrilled to announce the first two players to go on the 2019/20 roster. With preparations underway for a hockey filled season with the National side and the NIHL S2, we are thrilled to announce Reed Sayers and Mason Lipsey as the first signings of the Lee Richardson era.

Both Reed and Mason are players born and bred in Swindon and have graduated through the Okanagan Hockey Academy and Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy respectively and Head Coach Lee Richardson wasted no time in snapping the pair up.

Speaking about them both he said:

Reed is a fantastic skater who plays the game at full speed. He has great offensive talent and works hard every shift. We are looking for him to be a leader on this time and a constant threat every time he is on the ice.

Mason is a natural goal scorer and a player that gets better every year. He knows how to get himself in areas to score and that is something you cannot teach. We are looking for Mason to be a go to guy and keep working on all areas on his game which will make him the total package.

I cannot wait to get started working with both Reed and Mason this coming season.

Both Reed and Mason are equally as delighted to be playing for Richie and the Wildcats 2 next season.

I’m really looking forward to starting a senior career in Swindon with Richie as my coach. We’ll be playing with a great team of players and in my home town will make it special as well. I’m looking forward to getting going. Added Reed.

Mason himself said: “I’m really looking forward to the new season, and being coached by Ex Wildcat Lee Richardson. I’m eager to learn from him and making the step into senior hockey with the long term goal of one day playing for the Wildcats. I can’t wait to get started!
