Swindon Wildcats are delighted to announce we will be working in partnership with Swindon & Wiltshire Pride for EIHA pride week. Pride Week will run from 7th to 16th January 2022 and is for clubs to show that hockey is a sport for all, and that the rink is a safe space for everyone. We invite all our fans to join us in celebrating Pride Week and showing support for the LGBTQIA+ community!
Swindon & Wiltshire Pride will be attending our Pride game on 15th January against Sheffield Steeldogs. This will be a great opportunity for our fans to donate or have a chat with their team. We will also be selling Pride pucks at the merchandise stand, which a proportion of the profits will be donated to Swindon & Wiltshire Pride.
A spokesperson from the charity said “Swindon & Wiltshire Pride are extremely excited to see that the EIHA will be celebrating it’s first ever Pride week, which is being proudly championed by The Swindon Wildcats. Representation and awareness is extremely important to help combat Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia so thank you for supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.

As well as staging an annual LGBTQ+ festival, Swindon & Wiltshire Pride’s purpose is to promote equality and diversity for the public benefit and in particular the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity. Including in particular but not exclusively by raising awareness, engaging with the community, celebrating the diversity of LGBTQ+ communities and advancing education.
