After three wins the weekend before, the Wildcats returned to home ice to take on the Solway Sharks on Saturday evening in search of another win on home ice.

Early on in the opening period the Cats scored their first goal of the evening through Head Coach Aaron Nell inside the opening four minutes. The home side then doubled their advantage at 07:32 when Gael Lubwele scored his first of the game. With just 11 seconds remaining the Cats scored a shorthanded goal through Nell again as the hosts ended the first period 3-0 up.

In the middle period the Sharks were able to get themselves on the scoresheet through Nolan Gardiner with a very well placed finish past Renny Marr. Reed Sayers was able to restore the Wildcats three goal advantage just over a minute later.

The Wildcats continued to press and Head Coach Aaron Nell completed his hat-trick at 27:28 making it a 5-1 hockey game; and forcing Solway to change their netminder. Gael Lubwele was able to add a second goal, and another shorthanded goal as the Wildcats finished the first 40 minutes with a 6-1 lead.

Into the third and final period of the game and there was further goals from the sticks of the Wildcats when Head Coach Aaron Nell added a fourth goal at 45:34 and Colby Tower added the Cats 8th goal at 48:01.

These goals would be enough to close out the win for the Wildcats and set them up for a long road game to Hull on Sunday Evening.
