Sunday evening saw another goal fest at the Better Link Centre as the Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats ran out 9-5 victors over the Peterborough Phantoms, in a frantic game in the National League.

The Wildcats continued where they left of the previous evening against the Bees by racing into a 4-1 lead at the end of 20 minutes. An early powerplay marker at 0:33 by Glenn Billing was cancelled out 15 seconds later through Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom with both teams getting on the scoresheet in the first minute of the game. Balint Pakozdi scored the Wildcats second at 07:36 before Gael Lubwele scored two goals himself, 30 seconds apart, at 13:11 and 13:41.

In the middle period the Phantoms were able to pull the game close thanks to another quick goal at 20:49 by Ralfs Circenis and then another goal at 28:46 by Luke Ferrara, his first of three by the end of the game. The middle period came to an end with the game finely poised at 4-3 in favour of the Cats.

The start of the third period went badly initially for the Wildcats when Luke Ferrara added his second and third goals of the evening to give the Phantoms the 4-5 lead. However, from when Colby Tower tied the game up at 45:25, the Wildcats dominated the remainder of the game, adding four further goals.

Glenn Billing scored a second goal with another powerplay marker. Chris Jones then added two goals of his own, only 14 seconds apart before Tomasz Malasinski added another highlight reel goal to his tally for the season at 54:23.

The crazy game came to a close and the Wildcats made it another four-point weekend ahead of the first leg of the cup Semi Final against the MK Lightning this coming Friday night.
