The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm the final signing of the summer with the arrival of Luc Johnson from the Peterborough Phantoms. Luc was revealed exclusively on the Visual PR show Wildcats Unleashed! Earlier this evening.

Luc is no stranger to Swindon having captained the Okanagan Hockey Academy side in 2014-15 and went onto to play three years with the Wildcats between 2017-2020.

During his previous time in Swindon Luc played a vital part in three trophy lifts having completed the cup double in 2017-18 and the NIHL South 1 League Championship in 2018-19 season.

Returning to Swindon #21 is also coming off the back of playing a big role in Peterborough winning the NIHL Cup last season, beating the Leeds Knights in the two-legged final.

During his time in Peterborough, Luc found himself in a new role taking to the ice as a defenceman. This experience, coupled with him winning two awards at the end of season awards night in Peterborough, ensured he was a target for Head Coach Aaron Nell when looking to add to defence.

Head Coach Aaron Nell said:

We’re delighted to be adding someone with the experience as Luc has at this point in the summer. He’s won trophies almost everywhere he’s gone and we hope he can help us win more this year.

He knows the club and will fit into the locker-room incredibly well and we’re delighted to have him back in Swindon again.

Luc and the rest of the Wildcats will be back at the Link Centre this coming Sunday as the 2023 Launch Day gets the new season underway in style!
