After a tense couple of weeks, the Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats returned to ‘home’ ice to take on the MK Lightning in a game played at Planet Ice Milton Keynes.

The opening period would prove to be one to forget for Aaron Nell & his team seeing the ‘visitors’ for the night race into a 4-0 lead. Firstly Dillon Lawrence scored MK’s first and then added a second through a superb short handed finish. Later that period the moment everyone was talking about occurred when Rory Herrman scored a Michigan goal for MK’s third. Ross Venus then added a fourth goal near the end of the period.
In the middle period, it continued to get worse for the Cats when Ross Venus added a second early on, although this would prove to be the only goal of the period as Tyler Perre joined the net and did well in relief.
In the third period the Cats continued to get more settled into the game and began to carve out some better scoring opportunities. Balint Pakozdi scored his first goal of the season and broke the shut-out for the Wildcats.
The deficit grew again when Dillon Lawrence added his hat-trick goal late in the final period before Gael Lubwele pulled another one back for the home side but the result finished 2-6 in favour of the Lightning.
Once again the club want to place their thanks to Planet Ice and Milton Keynes for all their support in hosting our home game on Saturday evening.
