Sunday evening, back at the Better Link Centre the Wildcats fell to a late overtime winner against the Leeds Knights.

In front of another big crowd the Wildcats scored with their first shot on goal when Tomasz Malasinski finished a good move to open the scoring inside the first 3 minutes.

The Knights evened up the game with a Jordan Buesa powerplay goal as the first period finished 1-1.

In the middle stanza the Cats once more took the lead thanks to a Tomasz Malasinski penalty shot midway through the second period. Mac Howlett tied the game up with a superb individual effort shortly before the middle period came to a close.

Chances fell at both ends of the ice in the third period, but neither side were able to sneak the puck past the respective net-minders. The 60 minute buzzer sounded and the game had gone to overtime.

With both teams creating more chances in the extra period it would be the Knights who took the extra point when Jordan Buesa found the space to seal the 2-3 win.

The Cats are back in home action on Thursday when the Bees visit the Link Centre.
