The Swindon Wildcats fall short to a 6-4 loss against the Hull Seahawks

The Wildcats finished their three game weekend with a narrow defeat to the Seahawks.

Despite outshooting the Seahawks, McLaughlin stood strong for tbs Seahawks to stop any comeback for the Cats.

Game Report:

The Wildcats appeared to have scored a goal but the referee did not give it despite it hitting the back bar.

The Seahawks then broke away with Bonner scoring a nicely taken goal to give them the lead.

Both keepers made some excellent saves to keep the score at one going into the second.

End of the first: Seahawks 1-0 Wildcats

Bartholomew then extended the lead to two on the powerplay squeezing it past Marr. Assisted by Ulrick

Tyler Plews then got one back for Wildcats with a powerful slap shot past Mclaughlin.

However Hull hit back with a another powerplay goal, this time Ulrick with a hard wrist shot past Marr.

But just before the end of the period, Billing found himself one on one and buried it to make it a one goal game.

End of the second: Seahawks 3-2 Wildcats

Just under a minute into the third period, Ulrick grabbed his second goal with a lovely finish Into the top corner.

Reed Sayers then hit back straight away with a goal of his own to bring it once again back to one.

However Svec gave the Seahawks another two goal lead with a powerplay slap shot into the top corner. Assisted by Bartholomew and Sobchak.

Tower gave the Wildcats some hope with a nicely placed backhand past McLaughlin.

The Wildcats threw everything at it, pulling Marr for the extra skater but it would be Hull who scored the empty net goal to give them the two points.

End of the game: Seahawks 6-4 Wildcats

The Wildcats are back in action this Friday in Bristol, before hosting MK in Swindon on Saturday!
