Sunday Evening saw the Cats hit the ice for the first time since the announcement that the Link Centre would be opening later in December.

The Wildcats travelled East to Slough to take on the Bees IHC for the first competitive meeting of the season between the two teams.

In the opening period Swindon took the early lead through Colby Tower who was on hand to shovel the puck over the line. However the Bees tied the game up through a well placed tip by Josh Smith. Wildcats Head Coach Aaron Nell diverted a puck in close, to give the Wildcats a 1-2 lead going into the second period.

The middle period it would be the Bees who turned around the game with a 2-1 period victory. Goals from Gianni Vitali and Vanya Antonov were cancelled out by a superb goal from Tomasz Malasinski who scored in between the two Bees goals to see the scoreline remain at 3-3 after forty minutes.

In the final period the Cats depth showed through and Tomasz Malasinski added two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Not only was it a hat-trick of big importance all three goals were superb finishes and showed a player at his absolute best.

The final buzzer sounded and the Wildcats secured the points which is big in both the league and cup tables.

This weekend sees the Wildcats final double away weekend before returning home with the long trip to Solway before travelling home via Sheffield on the Sunday afternoon.
