On Thursday evening the Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats sealed a 8-4 victory against the Bees to continue our push for the cup semi-finals

The Cats had a tough first period heading into the break 0-1 down thanks to a Dominik Gabaj penalty shot, midway through the opening period.

Into the middle period and the highlight of the night was the Teddy Bear Toss goal, this year being scored by Gael Lubwele, his first of the evening, who tied the game up within 20 seconds. The Cats pressed on and scored their second goal through Colby Tower, his first of the night inside the 25 minute mark.

Colby added a second goal shortly after extending the home team’s lead to 3-1. At 37:47, Glenn Billing put his name on the scoresheet with a powerplay marker making it 4-1, however with just over a minute remaining the Bees reduced the deficit to two goals thanks to an Oliver Knaggs goal to make it 4-2 heading into the final 20.

At 43:39 the hat-trick was completed when Colby Tower fed the puck past Preece to make it 5-2. Within another minute the scoreline was extended to 6-2 with Billing’s second of the evening. Gael Lubwele added his second of the night at 45:44 to make it 7-2.

The Bees bounced back with two goals of their own, both on seperate power plays, when  Josh Smith scored their third and Aidan Doughty their fourth at 51:09. The Cats remained calm and sealed the win at 52:43 with a sensational cross-ice pass from Aaron Nell finding the stick of Chris Jones to complete the 8-4 win.

On Saturday evening the Cats host the Telford Tigers in their final game before Christmas with the MOM on the night going to Colby Tower and Ed Bradley.
