On Boxing Day the Cats returned to home ice for the first time after Christmas to take on the Bristol Pitbulls.

With Gael Lubwele, Tomasz Malasinski, Eddie Bebris and Jamie Smith all out of the lineup the lines needed mixing up ahead of the visit of the Pitbulls.

It would be the visitors who opened the scoring through former Elite League forward Bari McKenzie just after 60 seconds on the clock.

Late in the opening period the Wildcats levelled the game through Glenn Billing who drove the net and pounced on a Reed Sayers rebound to finish the first 20 minutes level at 1-1.

In the middle period the Cats would throw everything on net but be unable to breach Norton for the second time of the evening. Chances falling to Sam Bullas, Glenn Billing and Balint Pakozdi.

The Pitbulls did add a second goal through Elliot Lewis as the second period came to a close with the scoreline at 1-2.

The third period proved to be more of the same where the Cats pressured the Bristol net but Ben Norton stood tall. Late in the final period the Pitbulls capitalised on a two-on-one when Brennan Feasey added the third before Sean Morris sealed the win with the empty net goal.

The Cats are back in  action tomorrow in Bristol before returning home on Friday night against the Hull Seahawks.
