As preparations finally get underway for the 2021-22 NIHL Season, The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to confirm some familiar names for our off-ice staff this coming season.

First up; our assistant coach Lee Richardson will be back behind the bench supporting Head Coach Aaron Nell throughout the week and on gameday.

Lee took up the role in the summer of 2020 and has assisted Aaron since then. Having had a lengthy playing career spending 10 seasons in Swindon he really needs no introduction to the fan base.

Lee’s knowledge of hockey, both as a player and a coach, will be incredibly valuable to the Team going forward and he’ll play a crucial part in the performance of the team this coming season.

Secondly, our head equipment manager Steve ‘Burt’ Bradford who’ll be assisted by Pete Bradford & Jeff Priest have also agreed to support the team for the new season. Their roles are as crucial as ever in helping the team be as prepared as necessary throughout the season. As well as this, they are all massive parts of the locker-room and it would not be the same without these three supporting the team.

On a medical level, Back2Fitness, will once again be working with the team to ensure the players are as ready as they can be for training and matches. We have worked with Back2Fitness for a couple of years now and the care they give the team is second to none, both at home and on the road.

Swindon Wildcats Head Coach Aaron Nell said:

Lee, Burt, Jeff, Pete and the team at Back2Fitness are all huge parts of the team and the work they do for the players and I go under the radar. As coach, they make my job a million times easier and I’m looking forward to working with them all again and as a player it will be good to have them around the locker room once again.

This coming season Robbie Pamphilon will not be a part of the off-ice staff as he has found employment outside of the world of hockey. Aaron went onto say:

We’d like to thank Robbie for everything he’s done in the last few years, with the team and with the community side of the Wildcats. He will be missed for sure, but he’s found a job away from Swindon and we wish him nothing but the best of luck for the future.
