Tonight’s one to watch is a Czech left winger who is entering his second season with the Raiders, Lukas Sladkovsky is the Raiders second import for this upcoming season. He was born in Prague and came up through the famous Sparta Praha junior system and he impressed enough to move over to Canada and he also had a very short stint in the QMJHL with the Val-d’Or Foreurs.

Following his time in Canada Sladkovsky returned to the Czech Republic and played once more in the Sparta Praha junior system and once he completed his time in junior, he made the move to neighbouring Slovakia and made his senior debut in the Slovak second division. His time in Slovakia only lasted one season and following that he played in the Czech Republic in the second and third divisions for the next two season with HC Slovan Usti nad Labem, HC Decin, HC Orli Orlova 1930 and HC Tabor. These two years were his most consistent in terms of point production as Sladkovsky scored 41 points in 64 games.

It was following this period that he made the choice to move over to the UK and he played in the shortened 2019-20 season with the Raiders, during this season he produced 50 points in 49 games including 22 goals. This performance was deemed enough to get another contract for this season after the break for the cancelled 2020-21 season. During the break enforced by the pandemic Sladkovsky made a few brief appearances in the Czech third division.

So far this season he has performed ok and is currently on pace to record a point per game, he will be one of the better players on the Raiders team tonight so the Wildcats defence will need to be careful.
