Tonight’s One to Watch is a young defenceman who has been with the Phantoms for the past 8 years. Robson came up through the Manchester junior academy and played for all their age groups but it wasn’t in Manchester where he made his senior debut, that happened in the Elite League with the Hull Stingrays when he was just 18 years of age.

It was after this debut season that Robson made his first appearance for the national team at the under-18 age group. This was followed by an appearance for the U20 team a couple of years later but unfortunately this was the only appearance Robson made in a GB shirt.

Robson stayed for another season in Hull after his debut and during this season he split his time half and half between the Stingrays and the Blackburn Hawks in the NIHL. After this year he was given a chance to play regularly in the EPL with Peterborough and it was a chance he took with both hands. Robson impressed with the Phantoms in his first season and it was to be the first of many as he has definitely established himself as a key member of the Peterborough team.

This season has been the 8th consecutive that Robson has been with the Phantoms, and he is a very solid presence on the blueline in Bretton. In total he has played in 307 games for Peterborough and amassed 121 points in those appearances, including 22 goals, this puts him at a very respectable 0.4 points-per-game.

Tonight the Wildcats forwards know that they will be in for a tough time trying to get past Robson but hopefully they can unlock him and the Phantoms defence to send the home fans away happy.
