Tonight’s one to watch is a British defenceman who is also the club captain of the Bees, Stuart Mogg is back with the Bees for his 3rd consecutive season and his 2nd as the captain.

Mogg was born in Basingstoke and came up through the junior system of his hometown club but this was not where he was to make his debut in senior hockey. At the age of 16 Mogg made his debut with the Slough Jets ENL side and also played 1 game in the EPL with the main Jets team that year. The next season was to be much of the same for Mogg as he split his time between the three Slough Jets teams who played at ENL2, ENL and EPL level, getting this exposure and game time at a young age was superb for his development.

Following this two-year spell with the Jets Mogg made the move back to his hometown team and finally made his senior debut for the Bison in the EPL. He then stayed with the Bison for the next 6 seasons and during that time he played a total of 262 games, amassing 59 points during this time. It was during this time with the Bison that Mogg has collected all his medals won to date; in the 2013-14 season he was part of the team that won a Cup and Playoff double in the EPL, this was then followed up with an EPL league title in 2016 and then a League and Playoff double in NIHL1 during the 2017-18 season.

Ahead of the 2018-19 season Mogg made the choice to join the Bison’s local rivals, the Bracknell Bees. After impressing during his first year Mogg was given the captaincy before his second season and he remains in that role today. He is a very solid defenceman and will certainly be a presence on the blueline that the Wildcats forwards will need to be aware of.
