Tonight’s one to watch is ex-NHL American forward Tim Wallace, he was born in Anchorage in Alaska and he took the college route for his junior hockey before moving into the senior ranks. Wallace played for the University of Notre Dame for 4 years and put up solid if not spectacular numbers, but it was not enough to see him drafted to the NHL.

In the two years following his college career Wallace split his time between the AHL and ECHL with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and Wheeling Nailers. His performances during these two seasons earned him a call up to the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins and in the next 3 seasons Wallace split his time between the Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, he played a total of 24 games in Pittsburgh and had 2 assists.

After these 3 years he signed with the New York Islanders and played 31 games on Long Island before moving mid-season to the Tampa Bay Lightning. In Tampa is where he put up his best numbers in the NHL, he scored 8 points including 3 goals in 18 games. In the next season Wallace signed for his final NHL team, he played for the Carolina Hurricanes in 28 games and also played 47 games in the AHL that year with Charlotte. In total he played 101 NHL games and he scored 13 points.

It was following this that Wallace made his first move over to Europe and he played for 2 years in the SHL with his time split between Orebro and Brynas. He then had just one more stop before moving on to the UK, Wallace played for a single season in the DEL in Germany with Grizzlys Wolfsburg.

In the UK, Wallace moved first to the Sheffield Steelers where he scored 30 points in 55 games, after this one year he then moved to the MK Lightning where he put up nearly a point per game. It was after this year that he hung up the skates to become the head coach of the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite League, he was let go from his role at the Panthers this season and was offered the chance to play again with the Lightning in the NIHL National where he will be a superb addition in Milton Keynes.
