On Saturday night the Cats secured a 6-3 victory over the Bees at the Link centre. Despite missing Cowley and Tower on the Sunday, the Swindon side battled hard and beat the Phantoms 4-1 in Peterborough.

It was a rapid start for the Wildcats with Nell firing the first goal past Smital inside 36 seconds.

Pakozdi then doubled the Cats lead as he flicked home the puck from close range at 15:36.

End of the first period: Wildcats 2-0 Bees

Pakozdi scored his second of the game with a snipe into the top corner at 26:53.

Nell then added his second goal of the game as he rifled the puck into the top corner at 31:17.

Malasinski then hopped onto the scoresheet with a spectacular slap shot cross bar and in at 32:24.

The Bees then grabbed their first of the game on the powerplay through Galazzi who tipped it past Marr at 38:30.

However the Wildcats hit straight back before the end of the period with Jones finishing off a lovely move by the team.

End of the second period: Wildcats 6-1 Bees

Despite being five behind the Bees battled hard in the final period and scored their second through Luke Jackson.

Walkom then reduced the deficit to three as he squeezed the puck through Marr at 47:26.

The Wildcats defended out the rest of the period and secured the victory and two important points.

Swindon Wildcats Vs Peterborough Phantoms match report:

After a very back and fourth period with both teams putting in 110%, it would be the Wildcats who grabbed the lead going into the first break, Bebris finding Sayers with a lovely pass and Reed made no mistake first timing it into the top corner at 16:15

The Wildcats battled very hard in the second period despite only having 15 skaters and got their reward, Bebris involved again as he played a lovely pass to Jones who flicked it past Jordan Marr at 28:04.

End of the second period: Wildcats 2-0 Phantoms

The Phantoms needed a response and got one just over a minute into the final period with Bowering’s slap shot finding the top corner.

However the Wildcats didn’t drop their heads and regained their two goal lead back with Bullas playing a lovely pass to Lloris Taylor who smashed it into the net at 48:23.

Just 39 seconds later the Wildcats pushed forward again, Malasinski found the loose puck and flicked it into the empty net to make it four.

It was a brilliant last 10 minutes with the Wildcats defending excellently to take the two points back to Swindon.
