Sunday afternoon saw the Cats complete their Scottish double header against Solway with a 7-5 win.

After a 8-4 win on Saturday the Cats started as they left off with Balint Pakozdi opening the scoring in the first period. However the Sharks turned the game in their favour with three consecutive goals, two coming from Nolan Gardiner and one from the stick of Callum

Boyd.

After a Cats time-out, the deficit was swiftly halved when Tomasz Malasinski fed the puck to Aaron Nell to make the game 3-2 going into the second period.

In the third period the Cats tied the game up on the powerplay when Aaron Nell added his second goal of the evening. The Wildcats added their fourth goal of the evening when Russ Cowley found a superb tip on a Nell shot to make it 3-4.

Only a matter of seconds later, the scoreline was turned into 3-5 when Colby Tower pounced on a pass from Balint Pakozdi as the second period came to a close.

In the third period the Cats looked to see out the result, much like they had the night before. Russ Cowley added his second of the evening early on with a powerplay strike before the Sharks got another goal back through Craig Peacock.

In the final minutes Tomasz Malasinski fired a massive one time slap shot past Warburton to make 4-7 but the Sharks did add a consolation goal in the final 20 seconds.

The Cats secured their first four point weekend of the season as attentions then turned to MK away on Friday night before a ‘home’ game in Cardiff on Saturday against Solway.
