Despite a spirited comeback in the third period the Wildcats narrowly lost 6-5 to the Raiders on Saturday night.

The Raiders started off the game quickly and scored the first goal inside 51 seconds through Blaho Novak.

The Raiders then made it 2-0 with Aaron Connolly wrist shotting it past Marr at 14:39

The Wildcats pulled one back just before the end of the first through Malasinski with a lovely shot into the top corner.

End of the first period: Wildcats 1-2 Raiders

The Cats then tied the game through Aaron Nell who back handed it past James at 25:54.

However 28 seconds later the Raiders got back in front with Novak picking up his own rebound.

The away side then extended their lead to two through Jake Sylvester at 28:34

And just two minutes later Brandon Ayliffe gave them a three goal lead heading into the third period.

End of the second period: Wildcats 2-5 Raiders

Edgars Bebris then sparked a comeback for the Wildcats with a lovely backhand at 43:52.

With the Wildcats pulling the netminder for the extra skater the Raiders found the loose puck and slotted it into the empty net at 57:12

However the Wildcats still pushed on and managed to pull one back at 58:07 through Aaron Nell.

With a minute to go Malasinski then scored to reduce the deficit to one goal.

The Wildcats pushed for the equaliser but the Raiders just held on to take the two points back to Romford.
