Goals Galore this weekend as the Swindon Wildcats fell short to the Leeds Knights and Peterborough Phantoms.

Saturday night saw the Wildcats loose 10-5 against top of the table Leeds Knights. Knights goalkeeper Sam Gospel pulled off a great performance saving 46 shots from the Cats.

Despite the result on Saturday night coach Nell said he was still “very proud of my team.”

The Wildcats then narrowly lost 5-4 to the Phantoms on Sunday night in Peterborough.

Saturday night match report: Wildcats Vs Knights:

The Knights opened the scoring with Grant Cooper sniping the puck into the top corner.

The away side then picked up 4 more goals through Shudra, Haywood and Cooper to extend their lead to five.

The Cats got their first of the game with a backhand finish from Malasinski.

The Knights started the period well and picked up their sixth on the powerplay through Brown.

The Wildcats then pulled one back as Nell ripped one past Gospel.

The Knights lead was cut to three as Whitfield slap shot the puck past Gospel.

The Knights started the third just as they did in the second with Brooks sneaking the puck past Skinns.

Colby Tower pulled one back with a lovely backhand finish into the top corner.

Despite a lot of Wildcats pressure Gospel saved shot after shot to keep the Cats out.

The Knights then scored two quick goals through Zach Brooks.

Bullas pulled one back to make it 9-5.

However Grant Cooper capped off the game with his hattrick goal to send all the points back to Leeds.

Sunday night match report: Wildcats Vs Phantoms

After a close 10 mins it was the Phantoms who found the break through with Sladkovsky flicking the puck past Renny Marr.

Three minutes later this lead was doubled with Foster firing the puck just in front of the net.

End of the first period Wildcats 0-2 Phantoms

The Phantoms extended their lead to three with Spiers spinning around and flicking the pick high past Renny Marr.

Just 40 seconds later the Phantoms broke away with Sladkovsky picking up his second of the game as he squeezed it past Renny Marr.

The Wildcats finally found there way through the Phantoms defence as Malasinski Tipped the puck past Jordan Marr.

Just 26 seconds later Tower skated through on goal and slid the puck past Jordan Marr and flicked it high into the net.

Despite the Wildcats pressure the Phantoms got a breakaway opportunity and Spiers managed to squeeze the puck into the net to make it a three goal margin.

The Wildcats didn’t give up and Malasinski picked up his second as he first timed it into the net.

With just over a minute to go Tower found the loose puck in front of the net and flicked it past Jordan Marr.

With the Wildcats pulling Renny for the extra skater they through everything at goal but the Phantoms just held on and secured the two points.

A frustrating weekend for the Cats but some big positives to take, Your Bespoke Guardian Swindon Wildcats are back in action next weekend as they face the Sheffield Steeldogs.
