Our weekly chat with Swindon Wildcats, Head Coach Aaron Nell, Aaron, briefly looking back at last weekend; two classic games of hockey Leeds and Bristol.

Yeah look I was a bit disappointed with how we played on Friday, it was a really good game, I know the fans enjoyed it and Leeds are really really good They’re going to win the league I think they got one point to get in the last six games and it was a really tough game. Saturday night against Bristol.

We had to make sure that we came out well and we did. I know our fans really enjoyed beating Bristol and it was a good performance by the team.

Now this weekend sees a three-game weekend obviously Sheffield home. and away..

Yeah, it’s going to be a long week, a lot of travel. This is the rearranged game on Friday and the last time we played them they beat us two nill,

so we need to make sure that we get them back for that and make sure that we’re prepared and ready and that they’ve had a really, really tough season. But they’re always up for games at home especially. And we need to get two big wins.

Then, of course, as you say, travel to Hull on Sunday, another tough one

Yeah, like I said, long weekend. We’ll worry about Hull after Saturday it’s about just looking after ourselves and making sure that we we play properly against Sheffield so we can get two wins and then focus on Hull.

Well this weekend we were in the Link Centre, this is where legends are made and of course Saturday against Sheffield, we want to get those points.

I hope so!

Let’s look at the confidence going into the playoffs. Are you happy with the way the team’s playing?

We’ve been stuttering in the last four or five weeks and it’s the next three weeks about preparing to get back to the playoffs. So it was a big step forward, I felt on Saturday how we started the game against Bristol and we need to make sure that we’re playing like that when it comes to the playoffs in April.

I was going to say every sport, you want to go in, in a confident frame of mind and injury-free as well.

We hope so. We know we’ve got a good team. We’re having a tough four or five weeks and going out in the cup kind of just it just pushed us back a little bit and we need to make sure that we’re prepared for the playoffs.

Well, good luck this weekend Aaron, let’s hope we’re talking next week about three victories.

I hope so!
