Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce another off-ice move with the news that local fans Shane Dunne & Fran Whittock will be taking up full player sponsorship of Ben Nethersell for the remainder of the 17/18 season.
The move means every single player on the team is now sponsored for the Cup Finals and the end of season playoffs.
Speaking after confirming their sponsorship, Shane and Fran said:
“We have been supporting the Wildcats for two years now. As the 18/19 season approaches, it will be our third season as fans. Within that short period, we have tried to become more involved with the club and have developed a love for ice hockey.
We had the pleasure of sitting next to Ben during the Supporters Club Christmas meal and he came across as a genuinely nice guy (and he has the cutest dog which is a bonus!!)
He’s put in consistent shifts on the ice, offering security on and off the puck and is only one of five players to have been involved in every game in all competitions this season.
We have wondered why Ben did not have a sponsor already! He is a great young player who definitely deserves one and we are proud to now be his sponsors. We are looking forward to carry on supporting the Wildcats and #77 into the future”.
Should Ben re-sign for the Wildcats over the summer we are delighted to also confirm that Shane and Fran will continue his sponsorship into the 2018/2019 season.
